Welcome to Old Radleian
Golfing Society

President : Richard Palmer
Captain : Harry Douglass

The Old Radleian Golfing Society welcomes OR’s of all golfing abilities with an ‘active’ or ‘non-active’ “handicap”. The society has a calendar involving some 18 fixtures, the majority are foursomes matches and open to all members of the society. There are matches played against host clubs, matches against other Old Boys sides (Haileybury, Charterhouse, Sherborne, Lancing & Westminster) and Society meetings.

The main society days are The Spring Meeting (The Berkshire in 2016) and The Autumn Meeting (Royal St Georges). At both meetings there is an 18 hole medal round in the morning with the main society trophy being awarded for the best handicap score. Foursomes is played in the afternoon after lunch!

The Society enter several representative competitions. They are foursome matches played off scratch, including the Halford Hewitt , Grafton Morrish , The Bernard Darwin (over 55) and the Senior Darwin (over 65).

The Robin Turner Trophy is an annual ongoing singles knock out competition off handicap. £5 to enter prior to the Spring Meeting. Members then organise their games by a due date. The 2015 draw is on the ORGS web site.

Annual subscription for the society is £20 per year (reduced to £10 for young members). Match/Green fees vary depending on the number of rounds / lunch involved. The Society has a fund to subsidise the cost of meetings for younger members/university students. Please ask William Bailey, Hon.Secretary.

If you want to play golf in a convivial atmosphere on some of the country’s best courses with a group of like-minded individuals then please get involved.

We also hope to encourage OR’s to make up impromptu games at their home club and entertain those OR’s who are not yet members of clubs.

We very much look forward to welcoming you to the ORGS.

William Bailey Hon. Sec.
